The Accent Game

I was reading Carrie's blog which linked me to Ashley's blog and they did this accent video blog. I thought it sounded fabulous, so I'm going to try it.




The instructions are to say these words: 
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught 

And answer these questions: 
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house? 
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball? 
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called? 
What do you call gym shoes? 
What do you say to address a group of people? 
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs? 
What do you call your grandparents? 
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket? 
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining? 
What is the thing you use to change the TV channel?

    I have to disagree with you on one of your answers. "What do you say to address a group of people?" If you listen to your answer, you will notice that you said "you guys" in referring to what someone else said but then answered that you would say y'all. I thought that was kind of funny. I also noticed that I would have answered like you on most of this. Thanks for posting. It was fun.

    Hehe i totally did! But some if my non southern friends point out when I say y'all. Hmm.. wonder what makes me pick you guys or yall in a conversation...

    I'm with you, Mary Beth-- 50/50 on the "y'all" thing. When I am with my family in Georgia, I use "y'all" all the time. When I am here in NC, I am more conscious about saying "you guys" because I don't like to get teased about saying "y'all." But sometimes, it still comes out. :)

    Hey there, it is fun to see you and hear you, girl! nice haircut by the way. these are the words you say differently than me: route (rowt), sure (sher), New Orleans (New Orleeeens), coupon (cue-pawn).
    I agree that the rain question is rather strange, but "sprinkling" came to mind?

    98% of our answers are the same! Hilarious!! And the whole raining when it's sunny.. never heard a name for that either lol :)
